Get-Stuffed’s Connie Goodwin, Debs Coggans and Mhairi Kemp
A Hamilton sandwich shop has made it into the final at the British Takeaway Awards.
Get Stuffed on Whitehill’s Margaret Road are in the shortlist of five that will represent Scotland.
Owners Connie Goodwin and Mhairi Kemp are absolutely delighted at making it to the finals in London for the second year running.
Mhairi said: “We are absolutely beyond thrilled and really excited that we have made it into the top five once again. For just being a wee shop in Whitehill, this is a massive achievement for us. We are as high as kites about it.”
The top five takeaways in Scotland are now heading to London for the star-studded national awards ceremony.
The overall winner of the awards will receive £5000 and a free year on Just Eat.
Get Stuffed’s owners say that if they win the prize every single penny would go to charity.
Mhairi said: “If we win, we will be donating every coin of it to charity. The Lanarkshire Baby Bank is one charity in particular that means a lot to us, so we would like to give the money to them.”
Get Stuffed are well-known for their breakfasts and sandwiches – with their ‘Big Daddy Breakfast’ being a popular hangover cure.
The British Takeaway Awards 2016 will take place on December 5, at The Savoy in London, where the most celebrated names in British takeaway food will come together to celebrate the success of independent takeaway businesses.
